School Council/ Rights Respecting
School Council
All of the children in Acre Rigg School have voted for their own class councillors.
The role of each school councillor is:
To listen to people.
To communicate and make sure everyone understands.
To make sensible decisions.
To set a good example.
To treat every opinion with respect.
This is an exciting role for our school councillors who will meet in school each week to discuss and plan ideas.

Rights Respecting
Acre Rigg Infant School has recently achieved Level 1 status for Rights Respecting on June 22nd 2016.,
A Unicef UK Rights Respecting school is a community where children’s rights are learned, taught, practised, respected, protected and promoted. Children and young people and the school community learn about children’s rights by putting them into practice every day. The award is not just about what children do but also importantly what adults do. In Rights Respecting Schools, children’s rights are promoted and realised and adults and children work towards this together.
