Catch-Up Premium Strategy
In June the Government announced a £1 billion fund for education to be split between a ‘catch up premium’ and ‘national tutoring scheme.’ The catch-up premium is funded on a per pupil basis at £80 per pupil. This is based on the previous year’s census and does not include nursery numbers, meaning Acre Rigg Infant School will be in receipt of £15,280 (191 x £80). The spending of this money is down to schools to allocate as they see best. To support schools to make the best use of this funding, the Education Endowment Foundation published a ‘Covid-19 Support Guide for Schools’ document which details evidence-based approaches to support catch up for all students. We have used this guidance to plan our catch up strategy.
